Filippo Fusco is the new sporting director of Cesena: "The club and the city deserve Serie A"

With these words, the general manager Corrado Di Taranto this morning presented the new sporting director of Cavalluccio, linked to the black and white for the next season. “Thanks to the club that decided to count on me,” Fusco replied, “giving me an important responsibility at an equally important time, after two excellent years spent together with Fabio Artico and coinciding with the season dominated in C and a gratifying seventh place just achieved in the cadetteria. Continuity is the added value of a club and for this reason I firmly believe that a crucial aspect of the role of those who arrive is to make the most of the work of those who preceded them . I know Serie B not well, very well : I have collected three promotions and have left important capital gains in the places where I have been. Now at Cesena I have a one-year contract , but I think as if I were to stay for ten. It is clear that promotion cannot be the immediate objective here, but this club and this city deserve to think in that perspective . In how much time? I don't have to answer, my objective is to create the right balance to get there.”

Regarding the first contacts after signing for Juventus, Fusco quotes Mignani : “We spoke on the phone, but I am someone who prefers to deal with important matters by looking the interlocutor in the face. I will take a couple of days with him to discuss them as best I can. Mignani has shown himself to be an added value for this category: my job is to support – not indulge – his ideas. Knowing full well that the guidelines are those set by the club and the general manager. It will be a team effort ”.
